Coldr appoints Director, Health Brands and Social Impact

Kristy has been appointed Coldr’s inaugural Director of Health Brands & Social Impact, and her remit includes expanding the consultancy’s social impact footprint and spearheading growth plans with a focus on health and wellness. She will lead impact-driven strategy and storytelling, crisis and reputation management, strategic advisory and team development.

Kristy has more than 15 years of experience and joins Coldr from the British Medical Association (BMA), where she served as Campaign and Features Lead. During her tenure, she played a pivotal role in shaping the BMA’s public narrative, leading on strategic communications, advocacy, and consultancy across areas including general practice, private practice and public health. Kristy also led campaigns that challenged inequities and amplified the voices of communities to foster a more inclusive culture across the healthcare system.

She brings extensive crisis communications expertise, having strategically navigated the complexities of COVID-related public messaging, humanitarian issues, and communications throughout the 2023–2024 resident doctors' (formerly known as junior doctors') and consultants' strikes.

Before joining the BMA, Kristy held senior-level communications roles at the Royal College of Surgeons and the Royal College of General Practitioners. There, she coordinated strategic communications across both colleges on healthcare issues ranging from women’s health to medical tourism and health inequalities. Prior to this, Kristy spent 5 years at the British Medical Journal, rising to Assistant Editor.

She started her career in Parliament, where she worked in the Parliamentary Office of Science and Technology. She then took on an international role as a United Nations consultant in Italy, simplifying complex narratives for global audiences.

Kamiqua Lake, CEO of Coldr, says:

“Kristy is a powerhouse - a strategic thinker with deep roots in health and social impact, a global perspective, and a gift for storytelling that connects across cultures.

“She has led bold, inclusive campaigns that have shaped public conversations, and she has steered complex communications through some of the most challenging moments in healthcare. More than experience, Kristy brings heart, purpose, and a fearless clarity that makes her a perfect fit for Coldr as  we grow.”

Kristy Ebanks, Director, says:

“Good health is one of our most valuable assets; it shapes lifestyle, community and family life, but it’s long been clear that many of the things that directly influence our wellbeing, like inequalities, are often outside of people’s control. That’s why I’m excited to join Coldr’s leadership team to support brands and non-profits to tackle big challenges head-on and drive impact.

“I’m committed to building a culture where our team feel seen, heard, and empowered and ensuring Coldr is well-positioned to champion nuanced lived experiences in today’s evolving health and wellness landscape.“
