Should I start my own Substack?
Substack is having a moment. It’s fast becoming the go-to space for more human, long-form thinking — a place to share ideas that don’t quite fit on LinkedIn or traditional media outlets.
For our Senior Consultant Tara Bell, deciding whether to launch your own comes down to three simple questions:
1. Why? – Be clear on your purpose. What will your audience gain that they can’t get from you elsewhere?
2. Who? – Know who you’re writing for, and shape your content around what they care about.
3. What? – Define what you’ll offer in a pithy “Follow me for….” statement. Clarity helps people know why they should subscribe.
Done thoughtfully, Substack can be a powerful way to build your personal brand and connect with new audiences. But without intention, you’re just adding to the noise.
