Campaign

STEM From Black

THE RESULTS

Overall campaign reach totalled over 4.5M engagement opportunities, including media coverage and virtual and in-person engagement.

The digital-first campaign successfully generated conversations within Black communities and secured coverage in key media outlets like The Voice, Stylist and Melan Mag. Most importantly, the campaign increased interest in STEM teaching carers from Black communities.

An attraction campaign to inspire leaders to consider a STEM teaching career.

PARTNERSHIP

Educational charity, Teach First, partnered with Coldr to promote its collaboration with Lewis Hamilton’s foundation, MIssion 44. The goal was to increase awareness of STEM teaching careers within Black communities.

APPROACH

We centred the campaign around Black STEM leaders. This involved an honest “Black in Teaching” IG Live discussion, a hero featuring Dr. Anne-Marie Imafidon MBE, and a recruitment event inspired by Nigerian hall parties.

“When I saw the [STEM from Black] campaign, I was instantly inspired - I really want to make an impact on the community, whilst building an intrigue and passion for science. The partnership with Mission44 was a huge deciding factor when applying to Teach First – I can't wait to get started and be innovative with the curriculum for my students. Better standards for all.”

– Omar Muhammad, 2023 science trainee
